Last day of the year. I think the society needs to revisit the concept of #time, since people tend to neglect so-called "long term concerns" like climate change or health - which are rather concerns that may arise at an indeterminate time that could be sooner or later - or even try to squeeze short-term benefits (like money) out of such negligence. Here, the distinction of "short term" and "long term" is incorrectly applied, but nevertheless, policymakers think this way. Why?
First day of the #newyear. Many businesses (especially those in Japan) prefer #longevity than just profiting from the present, as they inherit their techniques, advance them or acquire new ones, and pass them along. That's what a healthy business should be. When companies squeeze resources hard for profit, what they're destroying is #expertise and culture.
