I wonder if simply knowing many people (especially when much of them is online) translates into enough close ? But the transactional nature (eg. guanxi) and gamification (eg. apps) of modern is certainly squeezing the time and effort from meaningful friendships. I certainly hope that it's not too late for me to improve myself and spend quality time with people instead...

Hoo boy, here goes my most magnum of opuses rn lol.
I never keep track of how much time i spend doing my works in general, but thanks to Krita i had finally known how much it took me to realize this big project (by viewing the info to my .kra doc):
10 hours and 7 minutes!

Due to the unholy amount of time took, this has also been quite a challenge to draw over a dozen of ocs (each belonging to diff. users online. If i were to give credit, it will go beyond the char. limit of this instance) all in one canvas.
While it all started as a request from my dear friend (huge respect to him, he's very patient and all), it challenged me to even get more at hand with mastering the masking layers and the Colorizer tool in general.
The whole project has been a whole singular process per each day (ex. a whole evening to sketch, another to inking, etc.), but nonetheless i had surprising effects such as not really feeling tired afterwards and breezing thru things while not feeling my eyes nor my right hand a wreck!

I really do not know what to put in conclusion here, except how everytime i use my laptop with LM for a very extended time period:
i feel my jaw dropping how once turned off it unheats quickly.
It barely becomes a burning meteor (not even) compared to when i ran win10 back then as the main OS.
Wow, MS quite trash tbh.

今天的 the Onion.
The Onion从2014年开始就给每次枪击新闻都用同样的这条标题:"No Way To Prevent This,' Says Only Nation Where This Regularly Happens". 今天他们把过去几年的这些新闻都一起登出来了。
:blobsad: I think the more important (and divisive) question is whether instant noodles can be called ramen or not. My friends would call both instant noodles and bowls as ramen, but I absolutely cannot tolerate this lol

So : Would you call instant noodles ramen?

However, while performing a security audit of the DuckDuckGo Privacy Browser, security researcher Zach Edwards discovered that while the browser blocks Google and Facebook trackers, it allowed Microsoft trackers to continue running.

DuckDuckGo CEO and Founder Gabriel Weinberg confirmed that their browser intentionally allows Microsoft trackers third-party sites due to a search syndication agreement with Redmond.

There’s just something about getting dead tree spam mailed to my house about a privacy focused web browser that isn’t sitting well with me… 🤔

One of the most common, and probably most enduring, categories of image to emerge from the war in Ukraine has been what has become known as the "jack in the box" image: a destroyed Russian tank, its turret blown completely off its hull.

Tank turrets are HEAVY. It takes a really big explosion to lift one up off the hull and into the air. So why is this image so common? Why are Russian tanks popping like a jack in the box?

Let's talk about it! ( 🧵 )

I feel like , as in the precise manner in which content is recommended to users, should be considered speech made *by* the platform, for which does not apply. But algorithms also depend on user content that Section 230 does apply on. Furthermore it would be hard to define an "algorithm": is Mastodon's chronological sort an ? So how should algorithms be regulated?

But anyway, is still much better than nothing:

researchers should realize that most public ActivityPub instance admins WILL resolve concerns WHEN appropriately informed. Treating large public instances as if they are malware domains is not only futile for the security issue itself, but also discriminatory: first, this is guilt by association; second, if you insist, then why do other popular platforms get a pass when they fare much worse in terms of malware occurrences and resolution?
